Thoughts
When I started teaching, the advice I would receive was to not get too emotional, and put emotions out of the equation.
But I never felt confortable with this idea because I was deeply moved by some of the students I met and I always deeply cared about people.
Emotions are not negative or positive, they are only messengers : they tell us what we need. Our reactions to our emotions is what’s important. Our reactions are our responsibility.
Today, I offer trainings that include emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence doesn’t mean that we take everything personally, on the contrary, it means we understand ourselves enough to know that other people’s reactions are their responsibility.
What makes my teaching different is the student/instructor relationship.
It’s not WHAT you do, it’s WHO you are.
I believe that what makes my work great is not what I do, it’s the person that I am.
Coaching is an act of self-care
Coaching is investing in yourself.
Le coaching, c’est investir en soi et croire en soi.
C’est un investissement rentable.
Le seul regret possible est de ne pas avoir commencé plus tôt.
Le coaching comme la traduction, c’est comprendre la carte du monde de l’autre.
Interpreting - Translating
Recruiters : “Are you an interpreter ?”
Me : “Yes, I’m an immigrant, I’ve been translating my whole life.”
Je sais que les écoles d’interprètes sont toujours très prisées en France et que les diplômes comptent énormément.
Personnellement, je pense que l’expérience compte bien plus. Et que l’on apprend mieux en faisant, en pratiquant, en acquérant des compétences et en les répétant au quotidien.

Why do I believe in soft skills so much ?
As I’d like to say it, you can learn anything on Youtube.
However, you cannot learn how to BE a human on Youtube, how to manage your emotions, how to deal with different people with different types of communication. Social media can help, of course, but nothing better than humans to deal with humans.
Yes, on paper we all know what is compassion and respect, but the level of bullying and toxic management that we still encounter in schools and companies make me think that we still need some help in getting to know ourselves better in order to understand others better.
The way we speak to others is only a reflection of the way we speak to ourselves.
